2 days of Copenhagen, meetings and friends...

I wonder what makes the heart funder?
I wonder what the morning day will bring?
I wonder ... will I be able to sleep after the enormous amounts of coffee I've enjoyed today.

I am currently sitting on the train on my way to Copenhagen, the time is now, the time is late, and the past few days there has been a lot of preparing to do, and I must admit I have been lacking somewhat on the sleep.

In a few hours I will be in Copenhagen, and when I step into the arrival hall Joy will be awaiting, and oh am I looking forward to see her Joyful face again.
She is as her name describes a bunch full of pure JOY and not having her around in Århus, is a shame, however next week she will be back as we are both teaching Danseballaden 2010, and then yet again, I will see her almost everyday.
However to live in the moment and not future or past, is necessary when working as artistic director, or present but with an eye on what must be created in the future as well, cause as people in this business might be aware off, the process of applying for funds is a long one, and sometimes you need to have everything ready for a performance a year before actually creating the piece in mind.

This is then what I am working on now.
I am applying for a office space at Aarhus House of Culture, a community of cultural entrepreneurs in the center of Århus.
I am putting last hand on the filomusi summer workshops, the one in Århus is all planned now, but the one in Copenhagen and Amsterdam still need some work.
Getting ready for rehearsal to NABO, our Århus festival week project that takes place in private homes around the city.
I am editing movies. I am seting up meetings with people involved in filming our first dance short film, which will take place in Copenhagen in august.
Tomorrow I have a meeting at Statens Museum for Kunst or the national gallery of Denmark if you may:) where we will be showing a sneak-peak of our coming installation/contemporary dance performance "You, me and the rest of us" on November 28th (this is a Sunday)
I am arranging and hirering the musicians who will be composing the score to fiddlelidee & fiddlelimax(they are awesome!) our season 2011/2012 childrens performance, which we will have rehearsal from mid december to mid january etc. etc. etc.
and during the next couple of days I will be in Copenhagen arranging for stuff to happen and meet close friends:)

...

pause... for a moment there I got lost, gazing out of the windows at the sundown over the sea. thinking about the amazement of looking out of the window to my right and the sky is orange, while looking to the left, it is pitch black.

pause... I find Criminal Minds online, the CBS television serie, Man! I such a sucker for crime-tv!

pause... "hey wait, there is an artical in the train magazine about the 1960's cultural generation and it says something about Mr. Dylan (it is with his music in the background we will performing "You, me and the rest of us") I wonder what it says, must read.

pause... I think to my self, I have to write Gary from Amsterdam tonight about the workshop, must do that before tomorrow morning, thinks this calls for a late night again...
It is a good thing I love what I do, as much as I do...

Through out the next couple of days I will be taking pictures from my adventures in Copenhagen, I will post them here for you to see what happens, beside dancing, when creating performances, when creating a dance company!

For now, thank you and good night.
Smile, laugh and love - and remember that it is when you run into resistance that you can know for sure that you are on the right path.

How to connect the art scenes...

We, who are a part of Filomusi Productions, wish to expand the art scene of Aarhus and connect despite of genres? And as we might have some ideas it is commonly known that 2 brains think better than one, so we are always keen to hear about ideas that can help us connect. If you're out there and have an idea as to how music, theater, videography, dance, art and poetry can become one, write us and we will take it in to consideration on our next board meeting.

Thank You
