This is the question that people have often asked me. Some say that they can't see the direct link, but to me it's all very obvious. The fields has a lot in common.
First of all, modern dance is an art form as any other kinds of art. Second, the mechanisms of cultural politics are very similar in the different art scenes and Filomusi is also placed in this field. Third, I have been trained equally if not more in visual culture, which has to do with everything you can see (visuals) and which has been made by someone or is the behavior of someone (culture). It is hard to completely specify and therefore it is a grey area. Forth, when studying art history I have worked with the art and visuals in many different ways. Some of the key words are impression, expression, inspiration, identity, processes, pictures, spaces, architecture, city-plans, analysis, discussion, criticism, creativity, colour, web, art politics, combining elements, contexts, evaluation etc etc. Many of these I find extremely relevant for Filomusi.
For me this internship is an opportunity to work with culture in a more practical way. Now, I have been here for almost two months and I can really start to feel the difference, hurray!
Best wishes, Ane

How to connect the art scenes...
We, who are a part of Filomusi Productions, wish to expand the art scene of Aarhus and connect despite of genres? And as we might have some ideas it is commonly known that 2 brains think better than one, so we are always keen to hear about ideas that can help us connect. If you're out there and have an idea as to how music, theater, videography, dance, art and poetry can become one, write us and we will take it in to consideration on our next board meeting.
Thank You
