Visibility

Visibility has to do with how clearly you see things, for instance how clearly you see the horizon. Therefore it also has to do with the distance between you and what you are looking at. Sometimes, the visibility is great but sometimes not.
The visibility was the theme of a meeting last week in the dance environment. It was necessary because dance as an art form lacks visibility among both politicians and the public. Dance is of cause visible to those who perform it, but does other people know that it is hard work? That it is a full time job to be a dancer when you not only have to learn new choreographies, but also need to develop your creativity, your technique and have to be fit at all times?
I think the meeting was very inspirering and that there was a good discussion and ideas on where to start. There is some things to do on a large scale, but anyone can play a part in this, each dancer can find out his or her way to participate in making the dance more visible. Filomusi already made it a key goal to create more knowledge of and interest in modern dance with a wider group of people:)
